Wangjing sit-in bats for deployment of CDOs in Moreh

Demanding that the government facilitate return to their ancestral homes, displaced Meetei people from Moreh currently taking shelter in relief camps at wangling and Lamding on Friday staged protest at Lamding bazar.
During the protest, the displaced people held several placards some of which read 'We want deployment of state forces at Moreh', 'Remove Assam Rifles from Moreh', 'Moreh is our ancestral land', 'No separate administration in Manipur', 'Stop border infiltrator Kuki terrorists', 'Save Moreh save Meetei', 'We want resettlement at Moreh', 'Compensation burnt/looted properties', 'Don't remove CDOs from Moreh' and 'implement NRC in Manipur' .
One Leishangthem Tamem Leima, who had been a resident of Moreh Heinou Makhong Ward No 7, told media persons during the protest that Meetei people from Moreh are taking shelter in the relief camps in Thoubal district after all their houses were burnt to ashes by Kuki militants on May 3 .
Assam Rifles deployed at Moreh did nothing when Kuki militants torched houses belonging to Meetei community, she alleged and appealed to authority concerned to allow Moreh residents- to return at their respective homes.
She also appealed to the government to deploy IRB and police commando at Moreh.
Tamem also said that Meetei people, who fled from Moreh, want to live at their homes and accordingly will return to Moreh even if killed by Kuki militants.
