Imphal, April 10 2024:
Republican Party of India (RPI) Athawale candidate Maheshwar Thounaojam has urged both BJP and Congress not to engage in spreading false propaganda to cover up their wrongdoings and instead, campaign for the elections in a gentlemanly way.
Extending warm wishes to the people via a press meet held at his Keishampat residence on Tuesday, Maheshwar dismissed as irrational claims made by some BJP leaders that RPI-A is in alliance with BJP and also criticised the Congress also spreading misinformation on the same matter.
Stating that RPI-A is an independent political entity, he clarified that the party only extended support to the BJP in Maharashtra, just as it had extended support to Congress or BJP governments from time to time.
He continued that there is no end in sight to conflict raging for over 11 months, while the double engine government is trying to downplay the same in the name of elections.
Maheshwar continued that he had knocked on the doors of the central leaders to help put an end to the conflict after both central and state BJP leaders failed to do so.
However, this is being used to spread false propaganda to suppress him.
While the elections will come and go, the crisis will remain unabated.
However, as a citizen of this state, it is hard to see some people slinging mud at others, while the masses are suffering, he remarked and urged all to help him reach his destination so that he could do something for the people of the state.
