Many meet Guv, discuss ongoing crisis

Imphal, January 17 2024:
Shiv Sena Manipur president M Tombi along with seven others called on Governor Anusuiya Uikey at Raj Bhavan on Wednesday and discussed about the unrest situation in Manipur.
The team further urged for changeover of the Unified Command chairmanship to the state government.
They also requested the visit of Prime Minister and Union home minister to Manipur and bring amicable solution between the communities in the conflict that started since May, 2023.The Governor expressed her empathy towards the concerns and problems faced by the people due to the unrest and suggested concerted efforts to restore peace and normalcy soon.
In separate meetings, representatives of Ima Market and Imagi Meira called on the Governor at Raj Bhavan Wednesday evening and informed her on the law and order situation in Moreh where personnel of state forces were killed by miscreants and the continuous attack towards state forces.
They also urged to hand over the charge of Unified Commands to chief minister N Biren and despatch of additional state forces to the border town to contain the violence.
Malom Oil Depot, Malom Tulihal manager K Tomasu also called on Governor Anusuiya Uikey on Wednesday evening and briefed her on their unwavering efforts to ensure uninterrupted petroleum supplies for the people.
They also stated that beyond oil, they are committed towards social responsibilities in sanitation, environment, sustainability, disaster management, drinking water and rural development.
Governor commended their services and extended New Year's greetings from her office.
