Bodies condemn gun attack at grocer store

Khongkham Awang Leikai Youth & Co-Adjutant Club and Kongkham Awang Leikai Meira Paibi have condemned in the strongest term shots fired by unknown miscreants at the grocery shop of one Wangkhem Lolito at Nambol Kongkham Awang Leikai on Tuesday night.
Addressing media persons in this regard at Kongkham Awang Leikai on Wednesday, Club member Ningthoujam Dhanaprakash said that three unknown people attired in black came to the shop of Lolito around 8:30 pm Tuesday and enquired about him.
At that time, his 17- year old daughter along with a three-year Old kid was in the shop.
When the daughter said that Lolito was not at home and asked to wait for some time, the miscreants fired four rounds and left.
Stating that Lolito had not received any monetary demand from any organisation, Dhanaprakash said that resorting to violent means amid the state passing through crisis situation is condemnable.
He also urged all concerned not to repeat any act that could create panic among the people.
Kongkham Awang Leikai Meira Paibi secretary Ningthoujam Sundari, who was also present during the press conference, informed that the incident has created tension among the people of the locality.
She also asked those involved to clarify reason for the same while pleading that even if Lolito is guilty, he should be given an opportunity to rectify the same on humanitarian ground.
