U13 Khelo India Girls Football League : WAFA, ICSA victorious in high scoring encounters

Wangoi Football Academy (WAFA) and ICSA-Irengbam registered hard fought wins against their rivals in today's high scoring matches of the ongoing U-13 Khelo India Girls Football League 2023-24 .
WAFA rode on a treble from Sharangthem Rina and a double from Asem Bidyalaxmi to secure a 6-4 win over the Young Welfare Club-Langthabal (YWC-L) at CYLC Ground, Chingamathak.
S Rina opened the scoring three minutes into the game before doubling the advantage five minutes later.Konthoujam Rashesori pulled back a goal in the 10th minute for YWC-L but Mutum Basantipuja netted WAFA's third goal a minute into the added time before the break to make it 3-1 at half time.
WAFA picked up the game from where they left and it was Asem Bidyalaxmi who retained a three goal cushion for her team with her first goal in the 27th minute.
YWC-L fought back and made it 2-4 through Laishram Bidyalaxmi before A Bidyalaxmi had her second goal to make it 5-2 in WAFA's favour.
Sharangthem Rina then completed her treble the next minute to further extend the lead to 6-2 but YWC-L rallied back to add two goals through Irom Yaiphabi (33') and Laishram Bidyalaxmi (36') to reduce the deficit by two goals.
WAFA, surprised by two back to back goals, upped the ante and managed to thwart further incisive moves from their rivals to walk out 6-4 winners.
In another keenly contested clash, ICSA-Irengbam pulled off a 5-4 win over Women Football Academy (WFA), Kakching.
WFA enjoyed a 4-1 first half lead but ICSA made a huge comeback after the break to seal a 5-4 victory.
Lanchenbi Lourembam opened the scoring for WFA in the 1st minute before Wahengbam Bedanti hit a brace (13', 19') to make it 3-0.Moirangthem Thadoi (25+1') then made it 4-0 before Laishram Rani pulled back a goal for ICSA within a minute.
After the break, WFA rested back with a comfortable lead but hardworking ICSA found another goal through Irengbam Sanatombi in the 29th minute and made it 3-4 with Oinam Retika adding another in the 35th minute.
ICSA drew level through Irengbam Hemapati in the 42nd minute before Nganthoi Oinam overturned the lead the very next minute.
They saw out the game 5-4 despite WFA toiling hard to salvage a point.
