Minister Khasim assures development of Tungjoy

Veterinary & Animal Husbandry and Transport minister Khasim Vashum kicked off the XXIII Poumai Naga Tsiidoumai Me Tournament 2024 at Pyamaro Pitch (Sports Field), Tungjoy village in Senapati district being held under the theme "Nurturing Talents".
The monolith of the PNTM Tournament 2024 was also unveiled by the minister who attended the programme as chief guest.
Delivering his speech, the minister conveyed the gathering and apologised on behalf of chief minister N Biren for latter's inability to attend the programme due to some unforeseen circumstances.
However, he gave assurance on behalf of CM to bring development in the area and called upon village leaders to identify a site for playground so as to avail financial assistance from the government.
The state government will provide Rs 20 lakh for eco-tourism and home stay in the village though central government may not render financial help, the minister said.
Assuring that, if required, additional fund may be sought from PWD for renovation and repairing of Inspection Bungalow, the minister pointed out that the ring road connecting the villages which was cancelled in the programme for the year 2021-22 shall be added in the programme for the year 2022-23 after settlement of the court case.
He also appealed to the students to maintain game spirit, discipline, hard work and patience and the gathering to give utmost co-operation and support to their elected representatives so as to bring maximum development in the area.
Later, the host village showcased their colourful cultural display while lighting of torch and oath taking was led by PNTM games and sports secretary.
As part of the programme, an exhibition football match was played between PNTM officials and senior leaders.
The programme was attended by additional chief secretary MH Khan, SDOs, CSO leaders, village chairmen and secretaries, students and villagers from different villages.
