While the state was embroiled in one of the most tragic period in its history, it is now time to remember that we are all humans and try to forgive and forget all that has happened so that we can move forwards and restore peace in the state, Forest and Environment minister Thongam Biswajit has stated.
He was speaking on the sidelines of distributing labour cards to beneficiaries, who have been displaced and staying at the relief camp set up by Thongju Kendra Relief Committee at Ideal Girls' College, Akampat on Monday.

However, the government has been able to bring about some semblance of normalcy and peace in the state.
As such, it is now time for the people to try to forgive each other and forget the painful memories while focusing on humanity so that we may be able to restore peace in the state.
We should also ignore unverified information or rumours which are meant to turn us against each other, he asserted.
Regarding the relief camp set up at ideal Girls' College, the minister informed that the camp was set up on May 10 and has been helping displaced people from various locations till date.
He appreciated his constituents for supporting the camp, while informing that different departments have conducted various training programmes to provide the inmates with a source of livelihood, the most recent training programmes being conducted by the Science and Technology Department.
The labour cards distributed on Monday under the aegis of the labour department through Manipur Building and Construction Welfare Board will be of great benefit to daily wage earners, especially with regard to education of their children, accident insurance and other benefits from time to time, he conveyed.
