Th Nabachandra claims Open Rapid Chess title

Imphal, October 09 2023:
Thongam Nabachandra claimed the title of the One Day Rapid Chess Tournament organised by D Chess Academy at the office of the academy at Uripok Khoisnam Leikai yesterday.
Nabachandra amassed as many as 6.5 points to earn the title as Konsam Sanahenba (6 pts) and H Jogendra (5.5 pts) finished second and third in the tournament which was participated by 50 chess players.

Dayanand Thoudam (4.5 pts) and Brainson Haobam (4 pts) topped the U-15 boys category as Bidyapati Moirangjam (4 pts) and Lanchenbee Ngairangbam (3 pts) earned the top two position in the U-15 girls category.
Khagokpam Nowboy (4.5 pts) and Khuman Einstein Maibam (4 pts) were adjudged top two players in the U-13 boys category.
Leirikhomba Mangang was the youngest player in the competition who also registered 2 points.
