Imphal, October 09 2023:
The proscribed PREPAK (Pro) has underscored the growing need for consolidation of unity among the Meitei people.
"We the Meitei, leaving behind our discord, must consolidate our unity to fight the newly emerging enemy supported by powerful lobbies from inside and outside India", PREPAK (Pro) Chairman Longjam Paliba M asserted in a statement issued on the occasion of the outfit's 47th raising day
(October 9) .
Without knowing the toponymy of Manipur, media houses and the 'fact-finding team of India' would not comprehend the root causes of the current crisis.
Understanding the origin and history of the devastated villages would be helpful in ascertaining who are the new settlers and who are the indigenous people, Paliba said.
The cultural and ritual history of Manipur clearly exhibits the inter-connected wholeness of the forests of the valley and the surrounding hills.
Those who attempted to distort these facts are only exposing themselves that they are the 'other people' or outsiders, reads the Chairman's statement.
The Indian administrators have been imitating the once infamous British divisive policy.
The prejudiced policy such as awarding excessive benefits to a particular community to secure their vote banks had sown the evil seed which grew to become the 'Ethnic Frankenstein' .
The existing unfortunate and pervasive bloodshed is the outcome of nurturing this 'Ethnic Frankenstein', it said.
The on-going crisis is the war of truth as it is against those new settlers who have been attempting to hegemonize geo-economically inside 'our own motherland', according to the Chairman's statement.
Narco-terrorism is not a new buzzword; it was effectively used by the British colonialists.
Later, India has weaponized it in internal colonization, it alleged.
Blaming each other is Indian political conventional wisdom, but Meiteis are more inclined to play the blame-game.
It is high time that the Meitei political idiots should wake up from the addictive Indian political system and stand firmly together with the people by stopping the habituated journey of 'political pilgrimage to Delhi', it said.
"I pay my revolutionary salute to those who had sacrificed their lives while safeguarding our motherland in the prevailing conflict.
Our party also shares the grief and sorrow of those families who suffered injuries, harm and whose loved ones are missing during this unfortunate crisis.
I also express my gratitude to those brave volunteers and women who are defending our motherland in these woeful days", Paliba added.
