Chamu Village Authority imposes ban

The Chamu Village Authority has imposed a ban on trading activities by non-locals within the village jurisdiction with immediate effect.
The village authority cautioned the non-locals to strictly adhere to the said ban failing which stringent actions will be taken against the violators as per the prevailing law of the land.
In this regard, Chamu Village Headman Wungshim Kasar, informed that the ban has been imposed as per the directive issued by Wung Tangkhul Region (WTR), Ukhrul that outsiders and foreign nationals to cease all forms trade and business activities within the jurisdiction of Chamu village and to vacate the region.
The order also put restrictions on sale and purchase of timber except for local consumption purposes.
It is worth noting that Chamu village is located in the extreme eastern border region of Kamjong district under Sahamphung Sub-division.
