Deadline served to punish brute SFs

Demanding the government to take suitable action against security forces involved in the brutal crackdown on the protesting students within three days, Thawai Mirel has cautioned of launching intense agitations if the government ignores its sincere proposal.
Speaking to media persons at its Singjamei Bheigyabati Leikai office On Thursday, Thawai Mirel women wing convenor Th Sujata contended that the state and central governments as well as Kuki CSOs should be held accountable for the death of the two students who had gone missing for months before their photos in captivity and lifeless state surfaced few days back.
As the students were simply airing their grievances and demanding justice for the deceased duo, there is no valid reason for the security forces to use brute force and inflict injuries on the students.
On receiving inputs that the case has been handed over to CBI, Thawai Mirel tried to meet CBI officials along with state's security advisor Kuldiep Singh, who also conveyed to facilitate the meeting, she said, adding that when Kuldiep was urged not to use excessive force on the students and asked why water cannons were not used to control the protesting students, the latter revealed that two water cannons are out of order.
Recalling that large number of Meira Paibis, who objected CM Biren's purported decision to tender resignation were allowed to gather in high security zone and given free passage, she .condemned the restriction imposed on the students on grounds of being a silent zone.
She further demanded to take action against the security forces for the excesses committed on the unarmed students immediately.
Regarding the statement of MLA LM Khaute about valley people involved in the poppy business, she reminded the Kuki legislator that the valley is resided by various communities and also enquired why the government is not giving befitting response to such statement.
Lauding film star Rk Kaiku for resigning from BJP man-dal over the present situation in the state, she stated that the time has arrived for all the leaders of BJP mandals to resign from the party.
