Protestors storm residences of CM, MLAs

Protestors from different parts of Heingang, Patsoi and Naoriya Pakhanglakpa assembly constituencies stormed the private residences of chief minister N Biren, and MLAs Sapam Keba and Sagolsem Kebi on Thursday night demanding early solution to the crisis and swift justice for the two students.
Large number of youths also headed towards the CM's private residence but police stopped the protestors near Khabam Lamkhai oil pump.
The protestors blocked half the road and staged protest there after which a team of 32 youths was allowed to submit a memorandum though the CM was not at home.
After waiting for some time, the protestors returned.
Later, another group of 40 youths was allowed to move forward and they submitted a memorandum to the chief minister with the demands to go to Delhi to resolve the crisis by September 30, destroy poppy plantations and deliver justice to the two student victims.
After returning to the protest site, the team told the gathering that the CM did not gave a definite response to the demand of going to Delhi and added that the CM asked them to meet him at his residence on Saturday 10 am.
Many of the protestors expressed their resentment against the CM's response.
The protestors then tried to storm the CM's residence at Luwangsangbam, but security forces deployed there fired tear gas and smoke bombs to disperse the protestors.
Some of the protestors also retaliated using slingshot and pelting stone.
At least three protestors were injured and were evacuated at Raj Medicity.
Protestors of Patsoi and Naoriya Pakhanglakpa as sembly constituency also went to the residences of their respective MLAs Sapam Keba and S Kebi.
They submitted memorandums demanding justice for the two students and proactive roles of the MLAs in resolving the crisis.
