Demand raised to sack policeman

Stating that a student who has been hit by bullets fired by the police during the agitation in Kakwa on Tuesday is in serious condition, Urup Arapti Developement Coordinating Committee (UADCOC) and Urup Arapti Apunba Meirapaibi (UAAMP) have demanded sacking of the policeman involved in shooting the student.
Addressing media persons at Manipur Press Club here on Wednesday, Kh Ranjit of UADCOC said that during the students' agitation in Kakwa on Tuesday to denounce murder of the two students, Wahengbam Jotin (14) s/o Wahengbam Somen of Urup Arapti Mamang Leikai, a class VIII student, was hit on his abdomen in firing and currently being treated at Raj Medicity ICU.
He condemned brutal action on innocent and unarmed students by police personnel and urged all the CSOs in the state to intervene into the matter and the government to terminate service of the policeman involved.
Ranjit also condemned the killing of the two students by Kuki militants and said that separate rule of law in the hills and the plains is not acceptable.
Jotin's mother who was also present during the press conference also urged the government to arrest the policeman involved in shooting her son and give befitting punishment.
She also appealed to all clubs and meira paibi groups to join hands in launching intense agitations till the police man involved is sacked.
