Bishnupur, September 28 2023:
Moirang youths have laid out various demands during a public meeting convened at Ibudhou Thangjing Laikol today following which a peace rally was taken out from the same venue.
It may be noted that today's demonstration was staged in support of the demands raised by Youths of Manipur (YoM) in connection with the ongoing crisis.
The public meeting was chaired by Ingoo Khadrakpa Salam Ibochouba.
Addressing the gathering, Moirang MLA Thongam Shanti assured the youths present that the State Government has no designs to fulfill the Kuki community's demand for separate administration.
However, if the Government acts against the desire of the people and takes steps to balkanise Manipur, the MLA said that he will side with the people and their wishes.

Further, they vehemently opposed the demand for separate administration and demanded capital punishment for the culprits responsible for the killing of the two Meitei students.
The meeting also addressed the plight of the relief camps inmates and said that the State Government should address their grievances.
In addition, referring to the erection of a cross at the sacred pilgrimage site of Ibudhou Thangjing, the youths called for removal of the religious marker and said that devotees must be allowed to visit the site.
The peace rally which followed the public meeting was attended by roughly five thousand people including meira paibis and civilians from various parts of Moirang.
The peace rally kicked off from Ibudhou Thangjing Laikol, passed through Moirang Lamkhai and reached Ngangkhalawai.
From here, the rally goers turned back towards Moirang Lamkhai, passed through Okshongbung, then Sribon, finally reaching Kumbi Road and then culminated at Ibudhou Thangjing Laikol.
