Swedish scribe arrives for lecture on conflict

Swedish journalist, author and strategic consultant Bertin Lintner arrived here on Tuesday to deliver lecture on 'China's shadow in Myanmar and North East India Conflict' at Manipur Press Club on Wednesday.
He was received by state's journalists led by AMWJU president Bijoy Kakchingtabam.
The workshop, powered by The People's Chronicle and Poknapham, is being organised as part of the series of activities in celebration of the golden jubilee of All Manipur Working Journalists' Union (AMWJU) and Manipur Press Club.
Manipur University vice-chancellor professor N Lokendra, AMWJU president Bijoy Kakchingtabam and Bertin Lintner would be attending the lecture programme as chief guest, president and guest of honour respectively.
Bertil Lintner, born in 1953, is a Swedish journalist, author and strategic consultant renowned for his comprehensive coverage of Asia spanning nearly four decades.
With his current role as correspondent for Asia Times, Lintner has delved deeply into the intricate dynamics of countries such as Myanmar (formerly Burma), India (with a focus on northeast India), China, and North Korea, earning accolades for his insightful analysis.
A trailblazer in his field, Lintner is credited as the first journalist to shed light on the burgeoning relationship between Burma arid North Korea, particularly in terms of stra tegic cooperation.
His work predominantly revolves around themes of organised crime, ethnic and political insurgencies, and regional security, shedding light on often overlooked aspects of Asian geopolitics.
