National Road Safety Month observed

Noney/Thoubal, February 13 2024:
The observance of the National Road Safety Month 2024 kicked off at Noney yesterday under the theme "Sadak Suraksha Jeevan Raksha" .
The two-day event was organised by the District Administration Noney in association with Noney Police and NHIDCL.
On day one of the event, road safety day was observed at Charoi Chagotlong High School Nungba, NSCBAV School Rengpang and Tengkonjang Higher Secondary School, Noney.
Noney District police also carried out road safety awareness drives at different locations of the district.
For today, bike rally campaigns were held apart from other public welfare and environment protection activities.
Thoubal
The closing ceremony of 35th National Road Safety Month observance for Thoubal district was held today marked by distribution of prizes for various competitions conducted during the observance.
The observance was organised by the District Administration Thoubal in collaboration with the District Transport Office, Thoubal.
The closing ceremony was graced by Deputy Commissioner Thoubal, Ahanthem Subhash Singh, IAS; Sub Divisional Officer (SDO) Thoubal M Ranjita and SDO Lilong Julia Khuraijam as the presidium members.
DC Thoubal presented cash prizes and certificates to the winners of the District level essay and painting competition held in connection with the National Road Safety Month.
Speaking on the occasion, the DC underscored the importance of strictly following the road safety measures to prevent road fatalities.
DTO Thoubal Kh Sanjeev, District Traffic Office, Thoubal DSP Md Amin Bani and school students also attended today's programme.
