Source: Chronicle News Service

Imphal, June 18 2023: The joint delegation of ministers, MPs and MLAs of Manipur currently in New Delhi would be meeting de-fence minister Rajnath Singh and finance minister Nirmala Sitharaman on Monday to apprise the central leaders about the ongoing violence in the state.

As per reports available from New Delhi, the team of ministers, MPs and MLAs will meet defence minister Rajnath Singh at 9.30am and then finance minister Nirmala Sitharaman at 3pm.The ministerial team being led by speaker Th Satyabrata also mclude ministers Gov - indas Konthoujam, Dr Sapam Ranjan, Heikham Dingo and Th Basantakumar, MP Leish-emba Sanajaoba, MLAs RK Imo, Kh Joykisan, Th Shy - amkumar, Md Abdul Nasir, L Rameshwar, Kh Loken, Usham Deben, M Ramesh-war, K Robindro, I Nailini, Th Arunkumar, Thongam Shanti, Asab Uddin, Kh lbomcha, S Kunjakeshore, S Premchandra and Shiekh Noorul Hassan.

The team is expected to apprise the Union ministers about the ongoing violence in Manipur and seek help from the Centre to resolve the crisis.

The team is also likely to apprise the central leaders about involvement of armed infiltrators from Myanmar in torching and attacking Meetei villages in the peripheral valley areas, which indeed is beyond in-ternal security of the state.

The ministerial team will also apprise the defence minis-ter about external aggression as the ongoing war is being waged by armed infiltrators from Myanmar and will urge the Union government to take up necessary action to foil the threat to national security.

The report further said that the ministerial team camp-ing at New Delhi is holding discussion with the Prime Minister Office (PMO) for securing an appointment for chief minister N Biren Singh with Prime Minister Narendra Modi.

However, PM Modi will be visiting the United States from June 20 to 25 and the chance of getting appointment is very bleak in short time.

Nevertheless, chief minister N Biren Singh is readying to rush to the na-tional capital anytime if he gets the appointment.
