World Entrepreneurs Day celebrated

The 10-days long celebration of World Entrepreneurs Day jointly organised by Manipur Institute Of Management Studies, Manipur University, Imphal and State Swavalambi Bharat Abhiyan, Manipur Branch concluded today at the Court Hall of MU.
Speaking on the occasion, Manipur University Registrar, Dr W Chandbabu elaborated on the role played by entrepreneurs in the economy of the country.
He shared that the Swavalambi Bharat Abhiyan is a national initiative focused on fostering self-reliance and economic empowerment in India.
He mentioned that as part of the campaign, Employment Generation Centres will be opened in all the districts of Manipur to empower youths.
Pointing out that the unemployment rate in India is around 7.95% at present, he asserted that the main objective of Swavalambi Bharat Abhiyan is to provide employment to every citizen of India by 2030 and bring down the unemployment rate.
He also appealed to the people to inculcate the idea of "Nation first, my locality first" and provide their cooperation in making the nation self-sufficient and independent.
The valedictory function was attended by Manipur University, Vice Chancellor, Prof N Lokendra; MU, School of Social Science, Dean, Prof Th Purnima; MSME National Awardee RK (O) Purnima; Nelsurock Enterprise OPC Pvt Ltd founder Manoharmayum Nelson Sharma; Manipur Shopping Dot Com & Maraah founder Swati Thounaojam; Eco Warriors proprietor Khundongbam Roshan; JCRE Skill Solution, MD, L Niranjan and MIMS, MU, Director, Prof L Prabhakar as presidium members.
