Meritorious students feted; induction programme held

Students of Kha Manipur College, Kakching, who are position holders and subject toppers of BA, BSc, BCom 6th Semester Examination 2022 (May) conducted by Manipur University, were felicitated during a function held at the College's multipurpose hall on Thursday.
The programme organised by College's Internal Quality Assurance Cell (IQAC) was attended by principal professor Yumnam Sunitibala, Kha Manipur College Alumni Association president Kshetrimayum Shyamkeshwar, College's retired principal Mayanglambam Sanaton, award donors N Shantikumar and Ksh Surjit, Anthropology Department head P Memory and Botany Department head Dr Mayanglambam Roma as presidium members.
During the function, the Kshetrimayum Sanatombi Devi Memorial Award for Manipuri subject were handed over to state topper Naorem Gaitri Devi, Kshetrimayum Jeneta Devi (3rd position), Naorem Soniya Devi (6th position), Kshetrimayum Priyadarshini Devi (7th position) and Moirangthem Preeti Devi (9th position); the Mayanglambam Ibohal Singh Memorial Award for Anthropology-Science were awarded to Amarjit Mayanglambam (2nd position), Sukham Angkurani & Shougaijam Suchitra Chanu (4th position) and Sahena (10th position); and the Pukhrambam Gouro Singh Memorial Award for Anthropology-Arts to Yumnam Olibiya Devi (3rd position), Yengkhom Sankar (6th position), Kshetrimayum Reshma (8th position) and.
Mayanglambam Vevekananda (9th position).
Meanwhile, the Naorem Ghandhar Singh Memorial Award for Chemistry were handed over to state topper Leishemba Meitei, Jellina Devi (4th position) and Oinam Diana Devi (5th position) and Naorem Wakhang Singh Memorial Award for Physics to Thiyam Krishnananda (2nd position) and Naorem Subhaluxmi Devi (5th position), as Naorem Rani (7th position) was presented the Mayanglamabam Subadani Devi Memorial Award for Botony.
The awards comprised cash award of Rs 5000 each and certificates.
Kha Manipur College Kakching Alumni Award which consisted of cash prize of Rs 10,000 each and citations were awarded to state toppers N Gaitri and Leishemba Meitei Leimapokpam.
Similarly, College's BVoc Department presented cash awards and certificates to BVoc courses position holder students including topper Kshetrimayum Nevia Devi, Shougaijam Sushita Devi (2nd position) and Kshetrimayum Roshibina (3rd position) in Tourism and Hospitality Management and topper Elangbam Bineshwari and Arubam Sona Chanu (2nd position) in Food Processing and Engineering.
Meanwhile, the IQAC organised its Students Induction Programme for BA, BSc, BCom 1st Semester 2023-2024 courses at its multipurpose hall on Thursday.
The programme was attended by its principal Prof Y Sunitibala and 13 departmental heads as presidium members.
On the other hand, the College on Wednesday distributed smart phones to selected 60 students as part of the 2nd phase of Chief Minister's College Maheiroi E-support Scheme (CMCMESS) .
