Imphal, August 31 2023:
Highlighting that due to the prevailing situation of Manipur, it will be difficult for the State Government and Chin Kuki Narco Terrorist to come to the table and begin peace talks, Shiv Sena State Unit has appealed to the Prime Minister and Union Home Minister to convene a joint meeting of all CSOs, Kuki leaders and political parties based in Manipur at the earliest to find a long lasting solution and restore normalcy in the State.
Addressing a press conference today at Babupara, Shiv Sena State Unit president M Tomba appealed to the Government to provide all the necessary assistance to the victims of the present unrest in a timely manner.
He also urged the Government to make necessary arrangements to resettle the internally displaced persons to their respective home/ village.
Alleging that the ruckus in the Manipur Legislative Assembly Session held on August 29 last was caused due to a political war between groups who were for/ against imposition of President Rule in Manipur, M Tomba asserted that it is high time for all to understand the pros & cons of seeking PR in Manipur.
Questioning the reason behind the incessant attacks carried out against innocent civilians by Chin Kuki Narco Terrorists, he asked, "Will they get separate administration by killing innocent Meiteis and burning down their houses? " .
M Tomba further mentioned that Shiv Sena is against the State Government's attempt to transport food & other essential items to Churachandpur when the people in valley areas are suffering due to shortage of essential items because of the blockade imposed on National Highways in hill areas.
