Many continue to extend humanitarian aid

Imphal, October 30 2023: Former students of Dhanamanjuri College of Science (1996-1999 Batch) continue to extend humanitarian aid to the internally displaced people (IDP) who are staying at various relief camps across the State in a bid to provide some relief and alleviate their problems caused by the prevailing tense situation.

Till October 29, 2023, financial aid and relief materials worth more than Rs 3.58 Lakh have been provided to IDP taking shelter at relief camps set up at different places.

The donations were made with the funds contributed by about 200 former students of the college.

Relief materials have been donated to the relief camps opened at Konthoujam Makha Khabam High School, Kumbi Tera Kha Upper Primary School, Lamlai, Thangalawai, Nungoo, Phougakchao Ikhao, Tangjeng Mangjil, City English School Sugnu, Urup Minority Girls Hostel, Old Age Home Kakching, Kha Manipur College, Kongoi Community Hall Kakching, Kalyan Bhawan Kakching and Yumbi Macha High School.

Moreover, Sagolband Constituency Progressive Committee (SCPC) in collaboration with the Peace and Relief Committee Sagolband today distributed over 300 blankets at various relief camps opened in Wangoo Hr Sec School, Wangoo Ahalup Mayai Leikai Community Hall, Wangoo Sellungkhong Upper Primary School and Laisoi Relief Camp in Thanga.

Corporator Ward No 7, Rk Jiten Singh expressed gratitude to Sagolband AC MLA RK Imo Singh for his guidance in carrying out the benevolent act.

He reiterated that this continuous effort to distribute blankets and other items are from the contribution of a month's salary as a Legislator of Manipur Legislative Assembly from Sagolband AC.

Rk Imo Singh will continue to work for the people of Manipur through the members of the SCPC and will also make all efforts to bring peace and normalcy in the State, he added.

It may be noted that over 200 blankets have already been distributed at the relief camps set up in Wisdom Palace School, New Keithelmanbi and Recent Hr Sec School, Sagoltongba for the first phase earlier this month.
