MLA Rameshwar assures upgrade of CHC Kakching

Kakching MLA Mayanglambam Rameshwar on Monday visited the Community Health Centre (CHC), Kakching in connection with the proposed work for its upgrade to full-fledged District Hospital (DH) .
During his visit, the MLA discussed the various development works being undertaken at the CHC and its needs with its MO in-charge Dr Khangembam Gopeshwor and staff.
Speaking to media persons on the sidelines of the visit, MLA Rameshwar informed that the Union government has released fund amounting to Rs 53.35 crore for development of the CHC to the level of District Hospital.
The land survey for construction of the hospital near the present CHC Kakching is almost completed and the construction work will start at the soonest possible, he assured.
The MLA also mentioned that since efforts made from the time of Covid-19 pandemic, Covid Hospital Kakching has been inaugurated by chief minister N Biren, while work for public toilet, electricity connection, fencing work, etc., are also nearing completion.
The 15-bedded Intensive Care Unit (ICU) constructed under the funding of Planning Department and Corporate Social Responsibility (CSR) of companies has started functioning, he informed.
Assuring that the construction work for the hospital will be completed by 18 months or two years, Rameshwar affirmed that he will ensure that the hospital will provide medical services to not only to the people of the district but also from other parts and make it hub a for medical tourism.
