Members of Churachandpur based "Joint Students' Body" which illegally declared Fridays as public holiday may soon face arrests.
A statement issued by the Home Department today said Churachandpur police has registered a suo-motu FIR under relevant sections of the Indian Penal Code (IPC) against members of the 'Joint Students' Body' .
Notably, the Government had earlier stated that the declaration of every Friday as holiday was totally illegal and that the student body had no authority to make such a declaration.

Any such act of spreading message/circulating materials/press release/public notice which poses threat to the communal harmony, peaceful coexistence, internal and National security has been viewed very seriously by the State Government, said the Home Department's statement urging public not to rely on such declaration/posts.
It said Churachandpur police station has registered an FIR against members of the Joint Students' Body based in Churachandpur.
