Free health camps conducted in Bishnupur for conflict survivors

Bishnupur, October 30 2023:
Sangai Trust Foundation, Leima Chanu Nawa Tengbang Lup and Malem Care Foundation jointly organised a one-day mega free health camp at Thanga Wangma High School Relief camp under the theme "Wiping every tear from every eye" yesterday.
At the camp, the conflict survivors were provided facilities for Blood Sugar Detection, HbA1c Test, blood pressure detection and eye test.
Professor Dr S Bhagyabati Devi, former HoD Medicine, RIMS; Dr Homendro Irengbam, Community Medicine Department RIMS; Dr Gaining Lulu Kamei, Ophthalmologist, Yaima Eye Hospital Khagempalli; Dr Lairenmayum Thompson Singh, Dental Surgeon and Optometrist Laishram Pradip Kumar rendered their valuable services.
In addition, Th Binodini Devi, Sr Nursing Officer, RIMS, secretary, Trained Nurses Association of India; members of Leima Chanu Nawa Tengbang Lup; Akoijam Bapin, Malem Care Foundation and representatives of pharmaceutical companies Novamed, Eris Inspira and Wockhardt were also present on the occasion.
Separately, as part of its weekly outreach programme, Taragi Cheisu conducted a free health cum relief work camp at Phougakchao Ikhai Mamang Leikai community hall yesterday.
Led by Professor Deben Laishram, Director JNIMS, the team of 25 JNIMS doctors provided medical consultation to around 400 persons.
Speaking in this connection Professor Deben Laishram stated that during the free health camp, blood tests were conducted to detect what diseases people were suffering from and thus decide on a mode of treatment.
He added that JNIMS will bear the medical costs of people who need extensive treatment.
According to Taragi Cheisu co-chairman, today's camp marks the fourth such initiative of the organisation and added that similar camps will be held in different locations of the State.
The team was accompanied by many notable personalities who proceeded to donate clothing items, consumables, medicines and seeds for cultivation.
