Kangpokpi/Senapati, June 07 2026: In a significant outreach amid the continuing security challenges in Manipur, newly appointed Director General of Police (DGP) Mukesh Singh on Sunday undertook his maiden visit to Kangpokpi and Senapati district, where he held a series of high-level meetings with district police officials, Central Reserve Police Force (CRPF) officers, and leaders of Kuki and Naga civil bodies.

At Kangpokpi, the DGP held meetings with representatives of Kuki Inpi Manipur, CoTU, Kuki Inpi Sadar Hills, KWU, KSO Sadar Hills, Thadou Inpi Sadar Hills, TYA and TWA .

At Senapati district, the DGP held a meeting with representatives of United Naga Council, Naga People's Organisation, Senapati District Students' Association, Senapati District Wo- men's Association.

The DGP will halt the night at Mao Police Station.

The visits to Kangpokpi and Senapati are being viewed as an important confidence-building exercise and an opportunity for the State's top police leadership to directly assess the prevailing law and order situation in some of the most sensitive districts of the State.

Mukesh Singh was accompanied by ADGP (Law & Order) Lhari Dorjee and several other senior police officials.

The visits underscored the Manipur Police leadership's commitment to engaging directly with stakeholders on the ground amid the evolving security landscape.

During the meeting with civil society leaders at Kangpokpi, the Kuki Inpi Manipur submitted a detailed three-page memorandum outlining concerns, grievances, and aspirations of the Kuki-Zo community in the context of the ongoing crisis in the State.

The memorandum reportedly highlighted issues relating to security, protection of civilian lives, restoration of confidence among affected communities, and the need for impartial enforcement of law and order.

Earlier in the day, the DGP chaired a comprehensive review meeting with district police officers at the conference hall of the SP office.

The meeting was attended by ADGP (Training) Lunsieh Kipgen, Superintendent of Police Kangpokpi Rahul Gupta, and other senior district police officials.

Mukesh Singh also held discussions with CRPF officials stationed in the district.

The interaction reportedly focused on the prevailing security situation, operational coordination between State police and Central forces, area domination measures, and strategies for maintaining peace in sensitive zones.

The visits concluded with assurances of continued engagement between law enforcement agencies and civil society representatives, with all stakeholders expressing hope for improved coordination and a more secure environment for the people of the district.
