It may be noted that the Centre is an in-house mentoring Centre for girl students coming from economically backward ground for the prestigious National Eligibility cum Entrance Test (NEET), for a career in the field of medicine.

Attending as the chief guest, PC Nair unveiled a plaque and cut the inaugural ribbon in the presence of Major General Rajan Sharawat, DIG Vaibhav Shinde, Commanders, students and parents of the selected students.

Speaking on the occasion, PC Nair expressed that ARCEE is a joint venture of Assam Rifles and National Integrity & Educational Development Organization (NEIDO) with the support of AXIS Bank as its corporate partner.

The coaching centre will provide an avenue for students coming from economically poor backgrounds of the State to make them realize their potential and excel in their educational careers.

According to the DG, the project was first started at Nagaland in 2022 and most of the students enrolled in the Centre got admitted in reputed medical and engineering colleges.

Intensive coaching will be provided to all selected students for at least 7 months in order to equip them for the entrance examinations.

Nair also said that although the State has been embroiled in violence for over six months, yet, the Assam Rifles with an objective to ensure and offer good education has established this ARCEE Centre at Somsai, Ukhrul especially for the girl students of Manipur.

Meanwhile, the Project Coordinator of NEIDO Shreyanshi elaborated on the selection process at the coaching centre.

The visiting DGAR Nair also held a brief interaction with the students, they expressed gratitude to Assam Rifles for providing the educational facilities free of cost.

Amongst the students Ningthoujam Romita from Bishenpur expressed that it was a great opportunity for her to be in the coaching centre, meeting friends and making new friends.

She along with two other friends from Bishenpur were enrolled in ARCEE Centre stated Romita.

While another student from Kangpokpi, Ura Awungshi said that the facilities provided by Assam Rifles Centre of Educational Excellence (ARCEE) would provide good opportunities for NEET aspirants candidates especially for the students unable to enter private coaching centres due to financial inability.

Meanwhile, Gloria from Churachandpur expressed that it was beyond her expectation and that the study atmosphere was cool and isolated from crowded areas.

They enjoyed the serenity of the areas beside warm hospitality from Assam Rifles.
