Assam Rifles unit at Shangshak organised a medical camp at Shangshak on August 16 for students of Patkai Christian Academy and nearby schools, a PRO IGAR (S) release said adding that three doctors and paramedical staff examined various medical aspects of infections and diseases prone to children.
Painting and essay writing competitions were also organised by the unit for children of AR school, Shangshak and nearby schools on August 15 which was participated by a total of 70 students.
Prizes to three best painting and essay writing winners of the event held on theme 'Go Green' were awarded along with 10 consolation prizes for others.
on the otherhand, Commander 26 sector Assam Rifles distributed sports items to St Peters School, Tengnoupal on August 17 .
The Commander also assured the school authorities to extend support and cooperation.
Meanwhile, the month-long Chumthang Handicraft training workshop organised by 12 Maratha Light Infantry of 9 Sector Assam Rifles has concluded at Malom village.
the PRO release said that 18 local women successfully completed the training course and were felicitated by the 9 Sector Commander.
The aim of the workshop was to give a source of employment to the women in such villages, added the release.
