Imphal, August 18 2010:
The second Manipur International Documentary Short and Animation Film Festival has opened in a congested room of Manipur Film Development Corporation (MFDC) complex, which has a capacity of around 100 people, today.

Ignoring documentary films would not be the right step in the promotion campaign of Indian movies, the renowned filmaker observed.
Syam Sharma called on the State Government to support the documentary filmakers and encourage them to produce better films.
Commissioner RK Nimai expressed satisfaction with the production of animation films by young filmakers of the State.
He also expressed hope that people may watch better films in future if the State Government supports the young and energetic filma-kers.
A number of movie buffs who came to witness the opening function and watch the films of the festival did not get seat as the room where such a prestigious International festival was hosting has the seating capacity of around 100 people only.
Even as many of the invitees had to take part at the function by standing many of the film buffs went home without watching their favourite films.
Eight films including three State films were screened on the first day.
