THAU win MNCA Women's One Day Trophy

THAU (Thangmeiband) outplayed PTRC (Patsoi) by 105 runs in the final of the 2nd MNCA Women's One Day Trophy 2022-23 played at Luwangpokpa Cricket Stadium on Monday.
Brilliant efforts from Kalpana Keisham (79) and Waikhom Ganga (61), backed by contributions from Milan Chanu Yambem (21), Monica Ningthoujam (19) and Roni-bala Chanu Thokchom (18) helped THAU post a competitive total of 240/9 .
Kalpana was caught off Manimacha Angom's bowling while Ganga fell to Kiranbala Palujam.
Milan Chanu was also dismissed by Manimacha as Monica fell prey to RK Linthoingambi's delivery, with Ronibala Chanu being caught via Manimacha's bowling who' took three wickets for PTRC.
THAU's opener Seterny Brahmacharimayum was sent back to the pavilion for a one-ball duck by RK Linthoingambi before the PTRC bowler took her second wicket.
In response, PTRC could only muster 135/9 in 34.1 overs as RK Linthoingambi (63 run out) 's all-round effort for her side proved futile.
Binomala Chanu Chingangbam (22 run out) was other notably contributor to their run chase.
PTRC's chase witnessed as many as five run-outs and they paid dearly for their mistakes under pressure.
For THAU, Waikhom Ganga, Milan Chanu Yambem and Niruta Thoudam claimed one wicket each in their title triumph.
Waikhom Ganga walked away with the player of the match trophy for her 61 off 43 balls and one wicket.
Among the players who earned titles for their performances over the course of the tournament were Waikhom Ganga (women of the series & highest run-scorer), Haorongbam Kiranbala (highest wicket-taker) and Thokchom Alish (most emerging player) .
