Local clubs urged to join 'war on drugs'

While contending that neither the government nor the state's forces can alone succeed in the mission to end drug trafficking unless the local clubs take an active role; Health & Family Welfare and IPR minister Dr Sapam Ranjan stated that each and every local club has a great responsibility in the fight for 'War against Drugs', including its success.
Speaking as chief guest during the 59th Foundation Day celebration of Naharol Club, Kangmong (NCK) held at NCK Ground on Monday, the minister expressed that the safety of future generations has been strengthened under Chief Minister N Biren's initiative of War on Drugs and even led to arrest of village chiefs of some areas.
Dr Ranjan appealed to the youth who are abusing drugs to abandon this bad habit and come back to normal life and exhorted clubs, parents and people to stand together in the fight against drugs in our society for the safety of the future generations.
NCK founder secretary Sinam Heramani Khuman presided over the function, which was also attended by Nambol PS OC Aribam Nabakanta Sharma, Yarou Bamdiyar former ZP Shamom Manglembi Leima, Kangmong GP former pradhan Thangjam Thoiba Singh, Kangmong GP Ward No 6 former member Irom Binarani Devi, Kangmong GP Ward No 3 former member Meisnam Bijeta Devi and the former member of Kangmong GP Ward No 4 as guests of honour.
