YWC, FC Imphal romp as 11-14 Girls' Inter Club Football Tournament kicks off

Young Welfare Club and FC Imphal got their campaigns off to a flying start while ICSA eked out a win as the AIFF U-14 Girls' Inter Club Football Tournament 2022-23 got underway at Artificial Turf Ground, Lamlong Thongkhong on Monday.
Young Welfare Club kicked off the competition with a 7-2 drubbing of Youth Welfare Club.
Sorokhaibam Lakhipiyari and Loukrakpam Seityamala equally shared six goals between them in their side's strong showing in the tournament's first match.
Lakhipiyari started off with a 1st-minute opener and Seityamala doubled the lead in the 12th minute before Sorokhaibam Silky made it 3-0 a minute later.
Youth YC came close to putting themselves on equal terms when Mangpineng Khongsai scored twice (20, 23) in quick succession to reduce the deficit to 2-3 .
However, Young YC bounced back with a double from Lakhipiyari (32, 40+2) and went further ahead with another double courtesy of Seityamala (54, 55) to close out the game in style.
The second match saw FC Imphal sweep aside Wangoi Football Association 6-0 as Salam Anjulika ran riot racking up five goals.
Anjulika's five-goal blitz (9, 15, 16, 41, 42) was backed by a goal from Lhinggunthem Guite (19).ICSA, meanwhile, rode on Irom Priyadashini's goal to edge past WFA 1-0 .
Priyadashini scored her match-clincher in the 24th minute.
