Koubru trip for Imoinu Iratpa flagged off

A 57-member team on Koubru expedition to celebrate and make preparation for Ima Imoinu Iratpa to be organised jointly by UKAL and Uttra Shanglen on Tuesday atop Koubru hill was flagged off by titular king Leisemba Sanajaoba from Palace Gate, here, on Monday.
In a release, UKAL secretary publicity Th Ratankumar stressed the need for understanding the importance of Koubru which is the cradle of civilization and to work for peace and prosperity in Manipur.
It is questionable how one can achieve progress and development by neglecting culture, tradition, religion and history.
The historical foundations of the land are basically required for building up unity, he said, and urged the people to participate in Ima Imoinu Iratpa at Koubru hill.
Meanwhile, AMUCO, in a release, pointed out that Imoinu Irat Thouni Thourum, which will be celebrated on 12th day of Manipuri lunar month of Wakching, is an important day for the land and appealed to the people for celebrating it in the right spirit.
Stating that the day will be celebrated by both Manipuri Sanamahi followers and Hindus, the organisation extended greetings and prayed for peace, prosperity and harmony.
It further high lighted the importance of understanding the inner meaning of celebrating Imoinu Iratpa.
The release maintained that development will be brought when economy, polity, history, culture and science of the society are fully developed, without which it is impossible to bring development.
The aforementioned needs for bringing development are closely connected with Ima Imoinu celebration, it added.
