Karam Shyam highlights developmental activities in Langthabal AC

Politicians will succeed only when they work together with the people with sincerity and transparency, said MLA Karam Shyam.
The MLA, who is also the Chairman of Tourism Corporation of Manipur Limited said this while inaugurating 5 community halls as gifts on New Year's day yesterday.
Karam Shyam inaugurated one community hall each at Khong nangpheidekpi, Naorem Leikai Awang, Oinam Leikai Pukhrambam Leirak, Kha Naorem Leikai and Haoreibi.
Inaugurating the community at Haoreibi, Karam Shyam said the five community halls were dedicated to the people as New year gifts.
He said, the community hall at Khongnangpheidekpi community hall is 65x65 feet and was constructed costing Rs 30.82 lakh.
The community hall at Naorem Leikai is 80x30 feet and it costs Rs 21.75 lakh.
The 63x63 feet community hall at Oinam Leikai Pukhrambam Leirak cost Rs 21.63 lakh.
Kha Naorem Leikai community hall is 75x43 feet and it was constructed costing Rs 25.18 lakh.
The Haoreibi community hall is 80x65 feet and it cost Rs 26.91 lakh.
He said most of the community halls at Langthabal AC were constructed post 2012 .
The under-construction community hall at Naorem Leikai Lairembi will be the largest in Langthabal AC.
All the achievements at Langthabal AC are because of the sincerity and transparency of the Development Committees of the polling stations in the execution of their works, he said.
On roads infrastructure, he said projects were stalled due to COVID-19 pandemic and disturbances given by an "individual" .
"The individual had filed RTI applications and written to the Vigilance, Prime Minister, Governor and Chief Secretary.
The individual has the right to file RTI but it has disturbed and stalled development works," he said.
He further stated that the Canchipur Water Supply scheme is able to provide water to 90 percent of the household at Langthabal.
Remaining works will be completed soon to cover all, he added.
He also informed that the Toupokpi Water Supply Scheme may be inaugurated within this month.
Also, construction of a water reservoir at Karam is almost complete.
After completing work at Karam, a project will be taken up at Haoreibi, he added.
