11th Kanglei Mega Sports Festival kicks off

The 11th Kanglei Mega Sports Festival kicked off today at Mapal Kangjeibung organised by Kangleipak Students Association (KSA) in keeping with their tradition of organising the annual sports festival every year.
Speaking on the occasion, Professor L Deben, Director JNIMS, stated that good health and education are closely linked with sports and added that JNIMS will do everything in its power to support the sports festival.
L Deben also lauded KSA for organising Kanglei Mega Sports Festival and appreciated the student body's attempt in trying to ensure the youth are focused on sports instead of other toxic activities that will accompany the celebration of Yaoshang.
He further said that a better Manipur might be on the way if other student organisations follow suit and organise and direct their focus on more sporting events.

Professor W Chandbabu, Registrar, Manipur University also addressed the gathering and commended KSA for organising the mega sports festival for 11 years in a row.
He highlighted the importance and requirement of co-curricular activities in the academic career of a student and added that the National Education Policy 2022 will meet this need.
He also urged sports enthusiasts to support this mega sports festival.
Sukham Bidhyananda, president KSA said that Kanglei Mega Sports Festival had been conducted from 2012 onwards with the goal of creating an egalitarian student community and to avoid the harmful culture of 'extortion' (sel thatpa) and water and coloured powder fights in the name of celebrating Yaoshang.
This Yaoshang, he urged the young people and clubs across the state to focus their attention on sports.
UDSA Ukhrul beat DSA Saikul 6-5 in kick from penalty mark at the opening match of 11th Inter District Kangleipak Football Trophy, 2022 organised by AMFA in association with KSA played at Mapal Kangjeibung today.
