Dr I Deben selected for state literary award

Imphal, March 17 2022:
Dr Irungbam Deben has been selected for Manipur State Award for Literature 2021 for his book 'Malangbana Kari Hairi'.
The award was first constituted in 2008-09 by the state government to promote literature.
It carries Rs 3 lakh in cash, plaque, citation and shawl.
Dr Deben is the second son of Irungbam Tomba and Memcha of Heirangoithong Awang Maibam Leikai.
He is currently working as associate professor at the department of anatomy, RIMS Imphal.
Apart from being life member of different literary organisations like Manipuri Sahitya Parishad, Sahitya Premi Samiti, Writers' Forum and Manipuri Literary Society, Dr Deben had presented papers and participated in various national level events related to literature.
Mohini (1999), Ei Sibagi Pao (2006), Ei Lai Ure (2009), Numit Ama Punsi Ama (2011), Kumbhakar na (2012), Sakhgenbi Tara (2013), Ningthibi Nujagee Chenglou (2015), Malangbana Kari Hairi (2017), Punsi Leipun Dot Com (2019), and Khungangee Mapao (2020) are some of his mentionable books.
He had also won Hueiyen Lanpao Literary Award 2014, JC Sanasam Rotary Award for Literature (poetry) 2018, Tayenjam Jayanta Poetry Award 2018, and Sahitya Akademi Award 2020 earlier.
