ICOP held at Modern College

A one day Integrated Communication and Outreach Programme (ICOP) on Azadi Ka Amrit Mahotsav was organised at Modern College, Porompat, Imphal East by the Regional Outreach Bureau, Imphal, Ministry of Information and Broadcasting on Thursday.
A release by programme in-charge Thokchom Anthony informed that as the re source person Ram Lal Paul Higher Secondary School history lecturer Sandhya Devi explained elaborately on nation's freedom struggle.
It was also attended by School Imphal principal P Memthoi Devi as president.
The events of first Nupi Lal - 1904, second Nupi Lal - 1939, Kuki Rebellion - 1917, the contributions of Hijam Irabot, Haipou Jadonang and Rani Gaidinliu, Manipuri Prince Narendrajit Singh who joined the 34th Native Infantry to fight against the British during the Sepoy Mutiny, 1857 and the contributions and leadership of M Koireng Singh in providing daily ration to the INA at Moirang during the Second World War were discussed on the unsung heroes from Manipur in India's freedom struggle.
As a part of the programme, COVID Appropriate Behaviour was also discussed followed by a spot quiz contest and distribution of prizes along with certificates to the students, added the release.
