Noney, March 17 2022:
PHC Noney is the only health care centre in Noney district headquarters which provides medical facility to people of more than 20 villages but shortage of doctors and medical staff badly affected its normal functioning.
Being the only medical centre in the area, the PHC also provides medical facility to a large number of employees of the construction companies which are executing railway and NHIDCL projects.
As of now, PHC Noney has only two doctors bn rotation basis after two doctors and one dentist were transferred recently.
Being the 24x7 service provider, more patients are coming to the PHC but the existing two doctors could not render their best service thereby causing much inconvenience to general population.
Speaking to media persons, Village Authority Council Longmai Area chairman Adai Dangmei urged the government to look into the matter seriously and take up immediate action to solve the problem to avoid untoward incident.
He also demand ed immediate replacement of the transferred doctors and paramedical staff in the larger interest of local people.
He then warned of launching intense agitation if the government fails to take action at the earliest.
He also demanded posting of three drivers for the three ambulances in the PHC.
Meanwhile, the building of the transit accommodation meant for doctors and teachers which was inaugurated recently by CM N Biren Singh at Noney PHC complex is in shamble due to sub-standard materials fitted for the wash room and kitchen.
The CSO leaders of Longmai (Noney) have also asked authority concerned and work agency to reconstruct or repair the water pipelines and maintain proper drainage system.
The drainage system outside the building is also in bad shape and it fails to drain out water due to its narrowness.
The stagnant water outside the building may breed waterborne diseases.
The CSO team also inspected building of the newly constructed staff quarter at Noney PHC complex that is still not handed over to medical officials.
The team also urged the authority concerned to handover the completed building for usage of the same.
