Imphal, May 07 2014:
JFCS Tentha Martongband and KUFC Kakching scripted convincing wins over their opponents in the 7th TKWA Trophy 2014 played today.
In the first match of the JFC Tentha, went on the offensive from the moment the whistle was blown and they are started invading the territory of SYDA Athokpam repeatedly.
Hardly had the players from Athokpam that JFC shot into the lead with Gobind found himself in a good position to take a shot at the goal.
Receiving a well measured pass near the goal mouth of SYDA, Gobind created enough space for himself to let go a rasping shot that settled in the far corner of the net in the 10th minute of the match.
Not content with the one goal lead, JFC kept up the pressure with some incisive running down the flanks and finding the gaps in the defence of SYDA.
The second goal came barely three minutes after the first goal, when the ball went to an unmarked Johnson deep inside the penalty box of SYDA, Athokpam.
With only the goalkeeper, Johnson kept his cool and let go a well a directed shot that found the net.
The onslaught continued and Gobind once again rose to the occasion to score another goal in the 36th minute to help his team take a formidable three goal lead without conceding any.
The second match of the day too went the way of the first match, with KUFC, Kakching thumping TMYDO, Tentha Khunjao by an impressive margin of 4 goals to nil.
Completely dominating the match, the players of KUFC were all over the field finding the gaps and initiating a number of dangerous moves from the flanks and made good use of the midfield to dictate the pace of the match as well.
Off one such well orchestrated attack, Kanta found himself in a good position to score the first goal in the 8th minute.
Bolstered by the early goal, KUFC went on the hunt for more goals and Robinson did the star turn in scoring a hattrick and literally take the match away from the reach of TMYDO.
Capitalising on the weak defence line of TMYDO, Robinson combined well with his team mates to slot home the ball in the 20th, 25th and 53rd minute to the match to complete the rout.
TMYDO were never really in the match.
