Caste Free India Meet held

The Dalit Sahitya Academy (DSA), Manipur organised Caste Free India Meet-2014 at Manipur Press Club today.
The academy conferred Dr BR Ambedkar National Award on 64 persons at the occasion.
Manipur Legislative Assembly Speaker Thokchom Lokeshwor, DSA National Secretary Y Mahendrakumar, Japanese Hospital President Rajen Ayangba and KM Blooming Higher Secondary School founder Kh Menjor were the chief guest, president, special guest, distinguish guest and guest of honour of the function respectively.
While speaking at the function Th Lokeshwore lauded the academy for encouraging youths by acknowledging their works in different fields.
Stressing on communal harmony and unity, the Speaker said that there is need to live together with unity forgetting religious and community differences.
Padmashree W Gojen said that the awardees were chosen from the entries submitted to DSA Manipur though the final selection was done by DSA Assam.
