KCA warns BRTF

Kuki Chief Association has warned the 82 RCC Moreh Platoon (25BRTF) that it would demand replacement with another BRTF platoon to resume the construction work if they do not resolve the pending standoff with the labourers.
During the meeting held at Agape English School at 3pm yesterday, Thangkholen Haokip, Vice President and Th Seijatheng Haokip, General Secretary, KCA, expressed disatisfactions over the the construction of 167 kilometers of road from Moreh to New Samtal.
The construction work started in October, 2008 and till now only close to 3/4 kilometers were black topped, Thangkholen Haokip said.
Pledging support to the labourers, he said until the grievances of the labourers are heard, KCA will lend its assistance.
Tinthang Haokip, President, Kuki Student Organisation, asserted that labourers have the rights to be treated with respect and dignity.
Inspite of repeated notifications of the labourers' grievances to the Head Office of 82 RCC (25BRTF), Lamphel and OC, Tengoupal, it yielded no poistive results, he added.
N Inaocha Singh, General secreatry, Meetei Council, Moreh; Th Budha Meitei, General Secretary, All Community Development also pledged to support the labourers' Cease work strike until their demands are met.
