After the Manipur High Court on Monday dismissed the writ petition filed against Vice Chief of Army Staff Lt Gen Dalbir Singh Suhag (in line for the office of COAS) in connection with the alleged abduction of three Manipuris from Dimapur and subsequent murder of the trio, major civil society organisations of the State have decided to request the petitioner to file a petition in the Gauhati High Court.
In this regard, a joint meeting was conducted with Poirei Leimarol Meira Paibi Apunba Manipur President Longjam Memchoubi, AMUCO President Dr Y Mani Khuman and COHR Chairman Phulindro Konsam as presidium members today, said a statement.

Appealing to various civil society and meira paibi bodies to extend co-operation and support, the meeting also resolved to stage a stir until a final solution is brought regarding the issue.
The meeting also decided to submit memoranda to Chief Minister Okram Ibobi and Deputy Chief Minister Gaikhangam to demand handing over of the case to CBI.
It may be mentioned that citing lack of evidence the Manipur High Court on May 5 dismissed the writ petition filed by a family member of Phijam Naobi of Thangmeiband, one of the three victims.
The petition said that Naobi was abducted along with RK Roshan and Thounaojam Prem from Char Mile, Dimapur on March 10, 2010 by some personnel of the Intelligence Unit of 3 Corps, a unit then commanded by Lt Gen Dalbir Singh Suhag.
Police later recovered the bullet riddled bodies of the trio from Lakhijan in Assam.
