7th MNCA Plate Tournament : YWC-P end IBSA's four game winning streak with narrow win, THAU crush YPHU by 10 wickets

YWC-Patsoi ended IBSA's four game winning streak in the 7th MNCA Plate Group Tournament Group B competition by registering a one wicket win today at Luwangpokpa Cricket Stadium.
Toss winners IBSA-Yumnam Leikai opted to bat first but were bundled out for a paltry total of 168 runs in 32.2,overs by SWC-P who sealed nervy victory in 39.4 overs with a wicket left to spare.
It was the third win in 6 matches for the Patsoi team.
IBSA were reduced to 44 for 4 after 11 overs as YWC-P put in a concerted effort.
But Usham Gunabanta (48) aided by Romeo Moirangthem (14), Nelson Keithellakpam and Yengkhom Bhomendro managed to take the tally past the 100 run mark before the team collapsed at 168 as Sagolshem Mangalsana (3/23), Laikhuram Jagat (3/21) and Daniel Lhumninthang (2/30) played a crucial role to wrap up the IBSA innings in 32.2 overs.
In the chase, Laikhuram Jagat kept the scoreboard ticking with a half century (51 off 92) even as he saw his partners depart cheaply.
YWC-P were 132 for 5 in 33.5 overs when Jagat departed after forging some significant partnership with Konsham Kishan (23) and Johnson Lai (33).The team lost two more wickets as they innings closed in the end including the 9th wicket in the first delivery of the 40th over but Khedarbarth Singh held his nerve to take the team to winning 169 with a wicket left and two balls left to spare.
Rajababu was the pick of the IBSA bowlers finishing with 2/30 as his other five teammates shared a wicket each.
L Jagat who shone with both the bat and ball was adjudged man of the match.
Elsewhere in a Group A match at Model Hr Secondary School and Oriental College playground, THAU demolished YPHU by 10 wickets for the second win in as many as 6 matches.
YPHU were bowled out for a meagre total of 71 runs in 21 overs after electing to bat first and THAU took just 10.2 overs to finish the chase without any loss.
Only Abdul Kaif (10) and Paikhomba Takhellambam (15) managed double digit scores for YPHU today as N Surash of THAU wreaked havoc across their lineup and returned with the best figures of 6/23 in his spell of 7 overs.
Yungkham Ortega also picked up two wickets to set up the collapse.
In reply, Diamond (22) and Roshinikumar Ngangbam (35) forged an unbeaten first wicket stand to hand THAU the 10 wicket win.
THAU's wrecker-in-chief Nongmaithem Surash was eventually named man of the match.
