Importance of Hindi stressed

Khumukcham Joykisan, MLA, Thangmeiband Constituency has urged teachers of Government Hindi Teachers Training College to take up the responsibility of teaching Hindi to youngsters of Manipur.
Khumukcham Joykisan made the statement during the Fresher's Meet function of Government Hindi Teachers Training College held today at the Multipurpose Hall of the College located at DM College Campus, Thangmeiband.
The Freshers' Meet was jointly organised by 3rd semester trainees and Trainees Union of the college.
Speaking as the chief guest, Kh Joykisan highlighted the importance of learning Hindi as it is used as a means of communication in major parts of the country.
P Shantikumar, Additional Director, Directorate of University and Higher Education also spoke on the occasion and called for united efforts to teach Hindi to students as Hindi will also be included in Integrated Teacher Education Programme under NEP 2020 .
Notably, Dr T Kunjakishore Singh, founding Principal of Government Hindi Teachers Training College was honoured with a memento during the event.
Retired teaching and nonteaching staff of the college were also honoured.
Aside from this, Khumbongmayum Aruna Devi was presented with a certificate of scholarship for topping the Hindi Shikshan Parangat 1st and 2nd semester examination under pre-service category; Gaiguimellu Kamei was honoured with a certificate of appreciation for topping the in-service category and Thangjam Urmila Angom was honoured with the Ningthoujam Arunkumar Singh Memorial Meritorious Award 2023 for emerging as the University topper in the Hindi Shikshan Parangat Exam 2021-22 .
