THAU thump YPHU as YWC edge IBSA

THAU (Thangmeiband) and YWC (Patsoi) notched up wins in contrasting styles in Friday's fixtures of the MNCA Plate Tournament.
THAU handed a massive 10-wicket defeat to YPHU (Lalambung Makhong) at Oriental College.
Electing to bat, YPHU were at the receiving end of THAU's bowling attack led by N Surash as the Lalambung side collapsed inside 21 overs for a meagre total of 72 .
Surash dismantled the YPHU batting lineup, racking up six wickets while Yungkham Ortega Roy claimed two and Khundrakpam Aden took one to pave the way for THAU's victory.
THAU then knocked off the required runs in 10.2 overs owing to Diamond's 22 (not out) and Roshinikumar Ngangbam's 35 (not out).
N Surash was named the man of the match for his six-wicket haul in seven overs.
YWC, meanwhile, beat IBSA (Yumnam Leikai) by one wicket in their Group B meeting at Luwangpokpa Cricket Stadium,.
IBSA opted to bat first and were all out for 168 in 32.2 overs as Usham Gunabanta (48) emerged as the lone bright spot in their innings.
For YWC, Sagolsem Man-galsana Meitei and Laikhuram Jagat equally shared six wickets between them while Daniel Lhunminthang picked up two and Loukrakpam Sumanta bagged one.
Responding to IBSA's 168, YWC didn't have it easy as they took 39.4 overs to eclipse the opposition's total.
In the chase, Laikhuram Jagat top-scored for his team with 51 off 92 runs, followed by Johnson Lai (33), Konsham Kishan (23) and Khedabarth Khundrakpam (20).For IBSA, Rajababu snapped two wickets while Pravesh, Manoj Sahani, Arnold Leishangthem, Yengkhom Bhomendro and Heromen Ningthoujam got one each.
Laikhuram Jagat (51 runs & 3 wickets) earned the man of the match accolade.
