Imphal, January 20 2023:
The armed Socialist Revolutionary Party (SOREPA) has announced boycott of the Republic Day celebrations in Kangleipak (Manipur) and imposed total shutdown from lam to 6pm on January 26.The total shutdown, however, will be exempted for media, medical, fire, water supply and religious ceremonies, SOREPA said in a statement.
The outfit also extended support to gen eral strike, total shutdown, boycott called by different revolutionary organisations on January 26 in WESEA region including Kangleipak and in Kashmir.
Stressing the need for frequent and unabated discussion on India's occupation of Kangleipak and India's trap to lengthen the occupation, the SOREPA statement issued by its publicity secretary MC Yaiphabi said that the ongoing national contradiction between Kangleipak and India must be thoroughly understood collectively and the suppressed Kanglei people have no reason to join India's Republic Day celebration.
Rather, Kanglei people should boycott the celebration collectively, it said.
While calling for a united revolutionary struggle in WESEA region including Kangleipak to defeat India's suppressive regime in the region, the SOREPA statement maintained that the ongoing revolutionary struggle in the region would not succeed without a united struggle.
Revolutionary groups fighting for regaining lost sovereignty of the region might have different ideologies but SOREPA considers that goal for the all these groups is similar.
While stressing the need for taking a collective decision to put an end to frequent dishonouring of Kanglei and WESEA people by mainland Indians, SOREPA appealed to intellectuals of the land to join hands together and discuss the issue.
Urging the intellectuals to give suggestions and rectify mistakes, if any, on launching a united revolutionary struggle, the outfit assured of welcoming all suggestions.
According to the SOREPA statement, India has been continuously laying a trap to lengthen its occupation of WE SEA region including Kangleipak.
It is questionable if people of Kangleipak and WESEA have forgotten or not that they are slaves of India.
How far people of the region particularly Kanglei people believe in fake history created by India to prolong its colonialism is being tested by manufacturing stories of Manipur of Mahabharat, Krishna-Rukmani, Arjun-Chitranggada, Brabubahan, Bhim-Hidimba.
The fake history of the Manipur of Mahabharat created inside the Kangla in 1709 by a Hindu priest is being brought out and utilised repeatedly by India and the attempt to distort Kanglei history intentionally by colonial rulers from Delhi have been frequent in the past three years or so.
India has been working hard to strengthen its colonial rule in Kangleipak.
However, India and its people must understand that identity crisis and political contradiction between India and Kangleipak will intensify as long as India's attempt to uproot genuine Kanglei history continues, SOREPA said.
While reminding the Kanglei people that Kangleipak was forcibly merged to India after taking advantage of the foundation of the fake history created in 1709, the SOREPA statement stressed the heed for destroying the fake Kanglei history created by India so that Kanglei people could live with social equality and dignity.
No part of the fake Kanglei history shall be left behind as scores of Amit Shahs who link Manipur to Mahabharat will come when train reaches Imphal and demand Chitranggada in every lane and locality, SOREPA said.
