6 State athletes taking part in National Cricket Academy camp

Imphal, May 13 2023:
As many as 6 State cricketers are participating in the National Cricket Academy (NCA) camp being underway in Kalyani, West Bengal.
They were called up for the camp following their outstanding performances in the Board of Control for Cricket in India (BCCI) conducted domestic tournaments last season (2022-23) .
The camp is being conducted for two groups-Elite and North East Zone and Manipur's RK Rex.
Pukhrambam Prafullomani, Kishan Laishram, Konthoujam Bishoijit, Meitankeisangbam Langlonyamba and Bikash Singh are participating in the North East Zone camp.
NCA camps are conducted by BCCI for U-16 boys, U-19 boys and Senior men's and U-19 girls and senior women's.During these camps, athletes are trained on how to improve their physical strength, advanced play rules, recovery techniques after injury, diet and coordination among team-mates etc.
Besides providing best counselling to each and every player, the physical and mental abilities of the players are also observed during the camp to ensure deeper knowledge of cricket.
With Manipur getting recognised by the BCCI in 2018, Manipur teams were able to participate in prestigious domestic tournaments from the year itself.
Within this very few years, Manipur senior team grew by leaps and bounds and earned Ranji Trophy Elite group qualification last season by making it to the Plate Group final.
Manipur suffered defeat in the hands of Bihar in the Plate Group final to finish runners up after a remarking group stage campaign.
