Board of Secondary Education Ma-nipur (BOSEM) chairman Akham Joyku-mar has revealed that the board planned to announce result of High School Leaving Certificate (HSLC) examination in the first week of June but the same had to be deferred to June second week due to the present restive situation in the state.
Speaking to media persons at BOSEM office, Babupara on Saturday, Joykumar informed that a three-day meeting of board officials, examiners and evaluators concluded on Saturday where all aspects were discussed to ensure quality and controversy free evaluation.
He also explained that the board's earlier plan to declare the examina-tion result first week of June had to be reviewed after the evaluation process scheduled to commence from May 10 had to be deferred due to violence and subsequent non-conducive environment in the state.
Evaluation will begin from May 15 and result declared by second week of June, the chairman assured, adding that imposition of curfew as pre-emptive measures created inconveniences to teachers engaged in eval-uation process.
Moreover, special ar-rangement would be made for the evaluators to pro-cure transport fuel so as to declare the HSLC result as scheduled, he conveyed, while urging authorities concerned to extend all possible help in timely dec-laration of the examination result.
The press conference was attended by BOSEM sec-retary Dr S Mangi)ao and controller of examinations L Mangi.
