KADUCO reacts strongly against brutality of Hiyanglam Police Station

Amid the tense situation prevailing in the State following the communal violence which erupted on May 3, the irate people losing faith in the State and Central Forces started snatching arms from various police stations across the State.
The people resorted to the above act to fight against the suspected Kuki militants who are under Suspension of Operation (SoO) with the Government as they have been posing great danger to the lives of the civilians who are left on their own without the needed protection from the State or the armed police forces.
Reports keep pouring in from all spheres that the suspected Kuki militants have been firing at civilian settlements using sophisticated weapons.
To retaliate against these acts, the civilians snatched the arms and ammunitions from different police stations to protect themselves.
As a part of such incidents, the locals also snatched arms from Hiyanglam Police Station.
In connection with it, the police personnel of Hiyanglam Police Station have been rounding up innocent civilians and have been physically assaulting them with dire consequences, alleged Kakching District United Clubs Organisation (KADUCO) .
KADUCO claimed that 21 individuals have been called up by Hiyanglam Police Station till date on the pretext of interrogation and have been released after beating up forcing them to surrender the snatched arms.
Denouncing such tormenting acts of Hiyanglam Police Station against the innocent civilians, KADUCO urged the higher police officials to take up stringent actions against the police personnel involved.
KADUCO also condemned the physical assault of its general secretary Advocate Taibangjam Lucky Meitei by Hiyanglam Police Station in this regard.
The organisation further said that 'Lucky Meitei was blind folded and beaten up black and blue by the police personnel of Hiyanglam Police Station forcing him to surrender the weapons snatched'.
Reacting strongly against the act, KADUCO sought the attention of the public and appealed to the public to take a firm stand against this police tyranny.
Further it urged the State Government to take up befitting actions the involved police personnel.
