Stating that the internet ban imposed on the State is jeopardizing students' academic and career prospects, MITSN A, a student-led youth organisation, has made aproposal for implementation of pop-up internet facilities in Government offices accessible to students.
In a statement, MITSNA has asserted that the pop-up internet facilities would enable affected students to visit the designated locations and address their immediate concerns.
MITSNA then went on to highlight the alarming problems faced by students due to the internet ban that could have severe consequences' on their academic career.
It stated that many students who hadplans to pursue higher studies after their graduation have missed the registration deadlines for crucial examinations such as CUET, PG and JEE Advanced.
Additionally, students who secured internships in prestigious institutions like IITs and IISERs are unable to access crucial information regarding their status, report back to their institutes about their joining dates or apply for necessary accommodations.
Commenting on the extension of internet ban tilt May 18, MITSNA opined that if the situation persists, there is a risk that some students may have to take a gap year and further jeopardize their career prospects.
MITSNA therefore has sought the attention of the Chief Minister, District Magistrates and other authority concerned including the Education Minister to address the matter.
Separately, in an open letter addressed to the citizens of Manipur; MITSNA urged people to stick to the idea of Save Manipur instead of dividing us into different groups and sections' .
