Many continue to extend relief items to the people who have been displaced by the recent outburst of communal conflicts in the State.
Fraternity of Lions Club of Manipur Region under District 322D led by Lion Dr W Gopimohan, district governor and Lion Th Kesho, vice district govenor-I (elect) provided a monetary aid of Rs 50,000 to the relief camp opened at Shri Shri Gourgobind Girls' College, Khurai.
In a release, Lions Club International informed that the amount was handed over in the presence of PHED Minister, L Sushindro.
Speaking on the occasion, L Sushindro expressed that the financial aid provided by Lions Club will be extremely useful for purchase of essential items needed in the relief camp.
Lion Dr W Gopimohon shared that various Lions Clubs in Manipur have raised funds through contribution by individual members to help the people taking shelter in relief camps.
In continuation of the humanitarian aid provided to the people displaced by the recent conflict, members of Manipuri Chanura Leishem Marup (MACHA LEIMA), AMKIL, NIMPAL, Khwairamband Keithel Semgat Sagat Lup and Nongpok Apunba Nupi Lup led by president of MACHA LEIMA, W Amusana distributed relief items to various relief camps opened in the State on May 11 .
In a release, MACHA LEIMA informed that relief materials were distributed to shelter camps opened at Moirang Khunou Maning Leikai, Moirang Khunou Makha Leikai, Thanga Lawai Awang Leikai, Thanga Lawai Sabal Leikai, Kumbi Central High School, Kumbi Awang High School, Ithai Khunou High School, Kakching Khunou Sana Khongnang Leirak, Kakching Khunou Member Rameshore Relief Camp, Kakching Khunou Mayanglambam Tiken Home, Kakching Khunou Mayanglambam Leikai PHC, Kakching Higher Secondary School, Wangjing Hodamba Leikai Pioneer Club, Wangjing Kodompokpi Sports Complex and Thoubal Wangmataba Youth Club.
Essential items including rice, dal, edible oil, potato, salt, bucket, mattress, soap, surf, toothpaste and clothes were provided to the relief camps during the drive.
Organisation For A Better Society (OBS), Western Palace Compound, Imphal East and Maisnam Irabanta Human Elevation Trust, Palace Compound, Imphal East with the support of local residents of Palace Compound today visited two relief camps opened at Ngangkhalawai Upper Primary School and Konjengbam Leikai Community Hall, Moirang.
In a release, OBS informed that volunteers of the club and Trust donated various items such as rice, oil, water storage tank, dal, sanitary pads, bedsheets, mosquito nets and medicines to the relief camps.
Balaram Khul Youth Club and Library, Balaram Khul, Nambol distributed relief items including rice, dal, ngari, chilli, drinking water and clothes to the shelter camps opened at Kumbi, Moirang and Utlou on May 12 .
Balaram Khul Youth Club and Library also exented aid to the volunteers of Kangmong and Leimaram.
To help the people taking shelter in relief camps opened at various places, Self Help Club (SHC), Leiphrakpam, Imphal West District, also donated essential items to Ithing Youth Development Organisation, Ithing; Chandapur Keibul Lamjao; MYVDO Club Moirang Khunou; SEYA Club Moirang Khunou and HAOGRAMPAT Youth & Social Welfare Association.
Nongpok Ningthou-Panthoibi Development Committee, Keirao Bitra, with the support of Litan Makhong Youth Club (LMYC), Panthoibi Youth Club (PYC), Keirao Khunou Youth Development Organisation (KKYDO) and Irilbung Lairembi Union (ILU) provided relief items to the shelter camps opened at Khundrakpam Birhari College, Asha Club, Shambei, Chingsu, Yumnam Khunou, Sagolmang, Pukhao Naharup, Pukhao Naharup Makha, Pukhao Khabam, Laipham, Pukhao Terapur and Leitanpokpi on May 11 .
Supporting BJP Manipur Pradesh's effort to help the people taking shelter at various relief camps, members of Ngari Gali Shop cum Residential Development Apunba Lup today handed over a monetary aid of Rs 20,000 to A Sarda Devi, president BJP Manipur Pradesh.
1979 Dhanamanjuri College Science Stalwarts, Manipur also provided essential items to the relief camps opened at Bright Career Academy; Khundrakpam; Sambrei Relief Camp; Yumnam Khunou Community Hall; Khewa Company, Sagolmang; Pukhao Naharup Mayai Leikai; Terapur Mayai Leikai, Pukhao GP; Peace Ideal Academy, Pukhao and Leitanpokpi relief Camp on May 9 .
Kanglei Kolu Sinpham Kanba Lup also distributed relief items to the shelter camps opened at Nongpok Ningthou Youth Association (NNYA), Yairipok Top Chingtha; Top Chingtha Yairipok Mathak Leikai (TYPO); Wangjing Kodompokpi Sports Complex; Leimaram Yaipha Lamching Lup (LYLLL); Oinam Meira Paibi Lup and Bishnupur Ward No 7 .
Similarly, The International Mutum Trust -Kabo Leikai, Dewlahland, Imphal East, has also extended humanitarian aid to the people who have been displaced by the recent turmoil and are taking shelter in relief camps opened at various places.
Chongtham Tomba Singh, proprietor of Sega Road Enterprises also distributed essential items to 15 relief camps opened at various places including Oinam, Bishnupur, Nachou, Ningthoukhong, Moirang, Kumbi and Uchan Loumang Haotak Koining.
The relief items were provided under the aegis of Barak Valley Cement Limited.
Besides, Topcem Cement also handed over relief items to All Manipur Iron & Cement Store to help the people taking shelter at various relief camps.
